Specific Uniform Guidance

A more thorough listing of uniform guidance is below.

See HERE for general guidance.

See HERE for Det 1257’s uniform regulations, or HERE for a “uniform class” from National.  And read on for where to get them, and an overview.

To reemphasize, the only “required” item is the red Marine Corps League cover.  Detachment polo shirts are encouraged for meetings.

However, optional for more formal occasions is the red Marine Corps League “Casual Red Blazer Uniform.” It is encouraged for flag ceremonies, as well as the Marine Corps Birthday dinner (though a sport coat can be worn for the later), and may be required for representing the league at Toys for Tots events.

The Red Blazer can be purchased from any vendor, with various accessories from the Semper Fi store.  Two-button, example vendors (as listed by National):

The accessories are on the Semper Fi store, under “uniform” (not under “apparel”), and include:

The Marine Shop has some (some) items as well, if you so choose:

Other Marine Corps League uniforms:

The “undress” is NOT required for general members, but is also optional, and may be desired for representing the det at certain meetings with the public, or other occasions.  Includes the “Aviator” shirt (epaulettes; short sleeve summer/long sleeve winter), collar devices, web belt, blue uniform trousers with red stripe, flag, sunbursts, and others.

Det 1257 does NOT hold events for the “formal” red blazer (with gold cummerbund), nor the “mess dress.”
